Effie Mae Burnette Marks, age 78, of Cameron, N.C., died Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at her home.

Mrs. Marks was born on April 12, 1938, in Moore County, N.C. to the late Raymond Scott Burnette and Florence Medlin Burnette.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Edwin Marks and brothers, Junior Burnette, James Burnette, and Bruce Medlin.

She is survived by daughters, Bertha Ann Marks of the home, Barbara Jean Lane and husband, Steven of Cameron and Pam Gaddy and husband, Wendell of Cameron; a brother, Robert Burnette and wife, Mary of Cameron; a sister, Ruby Carlyle and husband, Freddie of Cameron; and two grandchildren, Lauren Lane and Amanda Lane.

The family will receive friends in the Sanctuary of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church on Saturday, March 18, 2017, from 12:30 until the funeral hour at 2:00 P.M. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with Pastor Raymond Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
