Hello, Betty !
You may or may not remember me from high school days, but I certainly remember your parents and uncle, John Henry Rice, who bought my Daddy's Ford pickup truck after he died. Your daddy was my "Buick salesman of choice" whenever I ordered a new car. Your sister even bought my first gold Buick Skylark when I traded it for my La Sabre. I was asking about your daddy just last week when I was talking with a Buick salesman at Wilkinson's in Sanford. He told me that your dad had passed away several years ago.
I asked about your uncle then also if that man knew IF he still had the Ford truck, but he did not know. So today I was Googling your uncle's name & the write up showed up about your mother's death. I wanted to let you know how sorry I am for your loss. I experienced the same thing in Aug, 2003 when I lost my Mother who, along with my mother-in-law, both lived with John & me in Fayetteville, NC.
It is sad childhood friends do not keep in touch better. I went to several high school reunions, was planning on going to the next one which was planned for about 5 years after the last one, but I never heard back from anyone about it. Guess it takes too much time to track down people & do the planning.
Hope you and your family are all well. If your uncle still has that truck, please email me. I would love to see it one more time.
Take care and I am sorry I did not know sooner about both of your parents.
