Deborah “Debbie” Rattz Hurley, age 59, of the Deep River Community, Sanford, NC, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Lee County, NC on August 1, 1957 to Sherwood “Woody” Maxwell Rattz and Mary Elizabeth Wooddell Rattz.  She was preceded in death by her father.  Debbie was a member of Flat Springs Baptist Church and graduated from UNC’s Dental Assisting Program.  Debbie loved to travel and read but most importantly, loved her family.

She is survived by her mother Elizabeth Wooddell Rattz of Sanford; husband Bobby Lynn Hurley, II “Lynn”; son Jordan Hurley both of Deep River; daughter Lindsey Hurley Holt and husband Brian of Chapel Hill; brothers Jimbo Rattz and wife Kelli of St. John USVI, Richard Rattz and wife Lisa of Sanford; and three nieces and one nephew.

A graveside service will be Monday, May 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Flat Springs Baptist Church cemetery with Dr. Gary McCollough officiating.  The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.
