I was very sorry to hear about Charles's passing. I only recently heard about his death. Had I know about it earlier I would have certainly attended his service. I considered Charles a special friend. I have know Charles since 1972 when we both worked for probation and parole. I got to know him better during recent years when he was with the Parole Commission. I always enjoyed talking to Charles every month or so and seeing him for breakfast on occasion. I really enjoyed our "political discussions". He carried deeply about his family, his friends and his state. Rest in peace, Charles, we will miss you.

My thoughts and prayers are with The Mann Family. He will surely be missed by his family, his friends, and his Silver Sneaker Exercise Gang he met with every Monday & Wednesday. Mr. Mann was a joy, inspiration, and a wonderful example of a Christian man to myself and the Silver Sneaker class. I could be a in tizzy setting up equipment & getting ready for class; and Mr Mann would just sit in His Chair watching me with his arms crossed, eyes twinkling; and about the time I was finished; he'ld say, "Need any help?" We both start laughing & I'ld tell him it's under control now!! My class and and I will truly miss Mr. Mann. Gone but Not Forgotten. He will always be in our hearts. Sincerely, Wanda Harrington (SS Instructor) & Silver Sneaker Class.....

Remember me when you hear the wind blow.
I am with God, I need you to know.
He called my name, and I went to see
If the voice I heard was speaking to me.
He took my hand, we walked along
The road to heaven, where I belong.
The angles sang so sweet and clear.
They sang of love and that Jesus is near.
I felt his touch, I saw his face,
I knew in an instant I was in his grace.
He spoke to me, I heard him say,
You are home now child, you have found your way.
So remember me when you hear the wind blow.
I am home now with God, I need you to know.

I was Mr. Mann’s administrative assistant at the Parole Commission for 14 years. During this time, he taught me work ethics that I have used throughout my career. He was a great mentor, friend and advisor. He was a kind person who I found easy to talk with whether about work or things going on in my life. He loved his family and I always enjoyed times that he included me at family outings during the holidays. He always made me feel welcome and I came to love his family. He always seemed concerned about our family and the concern was genuine. Prayers of peace, strength and comfort for Mary Bess, Chuck, Peggy, Ashley, Laurel, Clarke, and William, Judy, Mackenzie, Will, Patrick and Kyle and all his family and friends. God speed Chairman Mann. We are glad you were part of our life and we will see you again dear friend.

I enjoyed working with Mr. Mann for many years at the Parole Commission. He was truly a dedicated state employee and I am blessed to have been able to work with him. I am certain he will be greatly missed by his family. I fondly remember his wife making wonderful brownies to share at special occasions in our office. May God grant His wonderful grace to all of the family during this time of sorrow.
