Dear Riddle/Matthews Family:
I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. It's always hard to deal with these types of things. We were not created to have to experience death. Being that Mrs.Riddle was a religious lady, she knew that God intended for us to live forever. The bible helps us to see that he still has those intentions. Jon 5:28,29 tells us that one day Jesus Christ will call those in the memorial tombs out and they will live again. Then at 1 Corinthian 15:26, it tells us that the last enemy, death, will be brought to nothing. So our loved ones will be brought back to life and death will not hover over us any longer. I hope these verses bring you comfort. 2Corinthians 1:3,4 tell us that our heavenly father, Jehovah is the god of tender mercies and the god of ALL comfort. So you have his assurance that he will help you to endure this trying time. Again, I am deeply sorry for your loss.
