Mary Belle Holt Matthews, age 80, of Sanford, NC, died Friday, July 17, 2015, at Westfield Retirement Center in Tramway.

She was born in Lee County, N.C. on January 8, 1935, to Floyd Holt, Sr. and Mary McDuffie Holt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, W. R. Holt, Leonard Holt, Walter L. Holt, Floyd H. Holt, Jr., J. D. Holt and Billie R. Holt; four sisters, Edna Earl H. Johnson, Lizzie Mae H. Cole, Louise H. Shackleford and Maggie H. Willett.

She is survived by her husband, Tommie J. Matthews, of the home and by several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery on Monday, July 20, 2015, at 11A.M. with Chaplain Joel Cameron presiding. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside service.
