Kelcie Lyn Vann, age 24, of Sanford, NC, died Monday, August 14, 2017.

She was born in Lee County, NC on May 13, 1993 to Jason Len Vann and Liane Thomas Cochrane.  Kelcie graduated with the Class of 2011 from Lee Senior High School and recently completed dental assisting school.  She was a member of Flat Springs Baptist Church and worked at Chick-fil-A in Aberdeen.

Full of life, a free spirit, our ray of sunshine loved, loved big.  She brought joy wherever she landed. A butterfly that flew by her own wings.  There wasn’t a soul she didn’t try to save, including animals. Her spirit was sweet and her fight was strong. Wherever she landed the sun would shine.  Jeramiah 29:11.  This little light of mine, I want to let it shine, shine, shine.

Surviving relatives include her parents Jason Len Vann of Broadway; Liane Thomas Cochrane and Jack of Sanford; grandparents, Diane Moore and Drew of Sanford, Hal Steven Thomas and Donna Drum-Thomas of Whispering Pines, Kenny Vann of Augusta, GA, Carol Jean Thomas of Sanford; aunts and uncles, Laura Leigh Thomas of Sanford, Bryan Carey Vann and Reagan of Augusta, GA and Michelle Vann Graning and Ty of Sanford; brother, Chance Jacie Cochrane of Sanford; sisters, Taylor Victoria Vann and Justice Celeste Hatcher of Broadway; and step-sister Morgan Patterson of Sanford; and numerous cousins.  She is also survived by her “fur-daughter” Luna.

The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, from 6-8PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held Sat. 2:00 PM at Flat Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Gary McCollough presiding.  The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
