Elsie Mae Powers Dezern, age 75, of Sanford, NC, died Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Westfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Lee County on August 22, 1941 to the late Charles Lewis Powers and Annie Dowd Powers. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. Elsie worked as a seamstress for many years at W. Koury Company.

She is survived by her husband John Wesley Dezern of Sanford, NC.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
