Mrs. Elizabeth Ruth “Lib” Thomas Munden, age 86, of Sanford, NC, died Monday, June 27, 2016 at Sanford Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Harnett County, NC on January 27, 1930 to the late George Luther Thomas and Zelma Brown Thomas.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother George Luther Thomas, Jr. and a sister Virginia Thomas Cameron.  Lib was a homemaker and was well known for her flower arrangements.  She was a member of Poplar Springs United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband William Radford Munden; sons Thomas R. Munden and wife Sharon of Sanford, Mike Munden and wife Sherry of Kenly; daughters Phyllis Stone of Sanford, Becky M. Melvin of Longs, SC, Debbie Worrell and husband Robert of Sanford; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Fallon Melvin officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service (10:00 AM to 11:00 AM) in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the family homeplace, 735 Thomas Road, Sanford.
