Margaret Sue Dowdy, age 82, of Sanford, NC, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Parkview Retirement Village in Sanford.

Ms. Dowdy was born in Lee County, on March 14, 1933, to the late John M Dowdy and Hattie Womack Dowdy.  In addition, to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Frank L Dowdy and a sister Annie Lee Dowdy Johnson.

She is survived by her sister Pauline Dowdy Harton; nieces, Dorothy Harton Sloan, Brenda Dowdy Cotton, Mary Jon Dowdy Schmitz, Carlis Johnson Atkins all of Sanford, Betty Harton Wilder of Snowcamp and Connie Johnson Jordan of Ashboro; and a nephew, Gordon F. Harton of Kansas.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Tues, Aug. 18th, from 2 to 3PM at Turner's Chapel where she was a long-time member and other times the family will meet at 1448 Colon Road, Sanford, NC.

The funeral will be held at Turner’s Chapel Church on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, 3PM with Rev. Bruce MacInnes presiding.  Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.
