Kaye Frances Stone Richter, age 74, of Sanford, NC, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Parkview Retirement Center following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born in Lee County, NC on October 18, 1941 to the late Benjamin Franklin Stone and Alma Love Stone.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Richter and sister Edna Stone Saunders.  Kaye graduated from Sanford Central High School.  She married Kenneth Richter, lived and raised her family in Michigan before health issues moved her back home to Sanford.

Kaye is survived by a son Kevin Richter of Rochester, MI; daughters Kandace Richter Poindexter and husband David of Sanford, NC, Kristone Richter of Lapeer, MI; brother Johnny Stone and wife Dina of Deep River; sister Lynda Stone Matthews and husband Jimmy of Sanford and three grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Zion Christian Church cemetery with Pastor Tom Johnson and Rev. Rocky Stone officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.
