Beulah (Boots) Dillon, age 98, of Sanford, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at Westfield Rehabilitation and Health Center in Sanford.

Boots was born January 6, 1919, in Ansted. West Virginia, to Walter and Maggie Eades.  She married Roger Dillon on August 3, 1943, and they spent the next 30 years as a US Air Force family serving in Japan, Morocco, and from coast-to-coast in the United States.  Boots was a loving, dedicated and faithful Christian wife and mother.  Affectionately known as “Mama D” to her friends of all ages, she enjoyed teaching and working with children in Child Evangelism Fellowship, Sunday School, and Awana programs.  Known as a “prayer warrior” in her Bible Study and Fellowship Groups, she also enjoyed Christian Women’s Club, Woman’s Missionary Union, volunteering for Meals-On-Wheels and singing with her church group at rest homes.  Chosen by God to receive the saving gospel message of Jesus Christ, she was justified by faith at a young age and sanctified for the rest of her earthly days to become more like Christ.  She is now glorified and in His presence forevermore.

Surviving relatives include her son, Richard Dillon of Woodbridge, Virginia; daughters, Margaret A. Dillon of Sanford, NC, and Deborah Sue Dillon of Simi Valley, California; granddaughters, Marcie Fields of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Sherri Hagenbuch of Gainesville, Virginia; four great-grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roger Dillon and sisters, Evelyn Martin and Helen Thigpen.

Boots’ graveside services directed by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home will be at 1:15 PM Sunday, Feb.12, 2017, at Cameron Grove Cemetery.  Her memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM at Swann Station Baptist Church, Sanford, with Pastor Russell Blackmon presiding.  Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
