William "Willie" Dean May

William Dean May “Willie”, age 69, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at FirstHealth Hospice House.

He was born in Lee County, the son of the late Ernest May and Erlene Cooke May.  Willie worked many years at King Roofing. He lived a simple life and found joy in the everyday moments.  He would do anything for anyone—without question.

Willie is survived by his daughters Kristy Taylor of Lillington, Amanda May and Rhonda May, both of Carthage; two grandchildren and siblings Edward May and wife Frances of Elizabeth City, Yolanda May Broadway “Landy” of Arkansas and Debbie Hickman of Sanford.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
