William “Pat” Alvis Bullard died peacefully at his home on September 3, 2021, with his wife of 64 years, Violet Motsinger Bullard, at his side. Pat was born in Lee County, North Carolina on July 15, 1932 to Charles Carson Bullard and Velma Cameron Wicker Bullard. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin Bullard, Lester Bullard, Wayne Bullard and Robert Bullard, and by his sisters, Ruth Bullard Lawrence and Colleen Bullard.
He is survived by his wife, Violet, and by his three children Patsy (Larry) Phillips of Olivia, Sherri (Mike) Naylor of Sanford, and Randy (Eduardo Hepp) of Miami Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Jessica (Marcus) Phillips Gilbert of Olivia, Samuel Naylor of Norfolk, Virginia and Adam (Gabriella) Naylor of Charleston, South Carolina, his sisters Rachel Bullard Kelly of Cameron, and Felicia Bullard Overton of Cameron, numerous nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Pat was a charter member and former deacon of Tramway Baptist Church, and attended faithfully from its founding in 1959 to the present day. He enjoyed reading, woodworking and building things with his own hands. What he enjoyed most was many years of vacations at his home in Ocean Isle Beach, and spending his retirement years with his grandchildren, supporting all of their sports and activities. He was a diehard fan of the Washington Football Team, and enjoyed Major League Baseball, and ACC basketball.
Funeral service and “Celebration of Life” will be held Monday, September 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Tramway Baptist Church with Rev. Jacob Peterson and Mr. Travis Corley officiating. Burial will follow at White Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Pat will lie-in-state at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Sunday, September 5th from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM so friends and extended family may pay their respects. Masks are not required but highly encouraged at the service.
