William "Mike" Michael Graham

William Michael “Mike” Graham, age 70, of Boone, NC, formerly of Olivia, NC, died Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the Caldwell Hospice House in Lenoir, NC.

He was born in Lee County, NC on September 29, 1950 to the late William “Bill” Graham and Peggy Page Graham Haddock.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father Larry Haddock.

Mike was a jokester and always had a good joke to share.  He was an educator and trainer that took he and his family around North Carolina.  He taught in Lee County, Harnett County, Chatham County and Hyde County Schools. Mike also taught Continuing Education and GED classes at Central Carolina Technical College (now CCCC).  Mike was a Trainer also.  He trained staff at Dorothy Dix Hospital and was also an alcohol and drug trainer in NC and the eight southeastern States and for the University of Georgia.  He also helped develop substance abuse programs for the NC State Prison System.  In 2005 he and his wife, Lynn created Witts End Vacation Rentals Property Management in Boone, NC.  Mike was a life-long member of Olivia Presbyterian Church and graduated from Benhaven High School and Appalachian State University.  Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He loved nature and wildlife. 

He is survived by his wife Lynn McCorkle Graham; son William DeWitt “Witt” Graham and wife Sydney of Raleigh, NC; daughter Pamela Page Graham and husband Matthew Ramsey of Franklin, NC; grandson Elliott David Graham Ramsey; sister Cindy Graham Holder of Olivia, NC, sister-in-law Ann Riley of Mooresville, NC; nieces and nephews Jason Holder and wife Holly of Elon, NC, Bella and Olivia Holder, Candace Hodgin and husband Billy of Olivia, NC and nephew Duncan Hodgin of Olivia, NC.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Olivia Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bob Johnson, Pastor George Walton and Ms. Shirley Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the services back in the church sanctuary.  The church requires masks to attend the inside service.
