William Edward Gunter

William Edward Gunter, “William Ed”, age 64 of Sanford, NC, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at UNC Hospital.

He was born in Chatham County on August 24, 1959 to Herbert Burns Gunter and the late Betty Mae Poindexter Gunter.  William Ed worked in the trucking industry as a truck driver for many years.  He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, camping and playing a good game of horseshoes.  He also enjoyed watching football and NASCAR,  He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his father, Herbert Gunter of Sanford; daughter, Donna DiDonato of Erwin; sister, Jean Stone of Sanford; grandchildren, Daniel Brannick, Jr., Savannah DiDonato, Lila DiDonato and Alyssa DiDonato; nephew, Jonathan Woodham and wife, Jessica and their children Nolan and Novie.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.
