Wanda Kay (Wade) Harrington

Wanda Kay Wade Harrington, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Transitions Hospice Care in Raleigh.

She was born in Lee County on February 13, 1949 to the late Eirk Edgerton Wade and Lucy Rose Thomas Wade.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glynn Harrington and sister Laverne Wade. Wanda operated an in-home daycare and spent many years as a dedicated and loyal day care provider.  She nurtured many children over the years who loved her dearly.  Her bubbly personality and ability to reach out to total strangers to brighten their day will be sorely missed.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

She leaves behind her daughter Ashley H. Johnson and husband Kenneth of Willow Springs; son Adam W. Harrington and wife Rose of Kansas; four grandchildren Alex and Alyssa Johnson, Ryan Embay and Gabriel Harrington.  She is also survived by a sister Eddie Wade.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Shallow Well Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating. No formal visitation with the family is scheduled but for those choosing to pay respects may do so at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home beginning Saturday, September 4, 2021.
