Wanda Elizabeth (Haywood) Yarborough

Wanda Haywood Yarborough, age 73, of Sanford, NC passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 at UNC Hospitals with her family by her side.

She was born in Montgomery County, NC on October 5, 1950 to the late Robert Haywood and Elizabeth Crump Haywood.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother James DeBerry.  Wanda retired from the Lee County Clerk of Court office after many years of service.  What mattered the most to Wanda was her family and her friends and just being together.

She is survived by her husband Ronald “Ronnie” Vance Yarborough and son Chad Vance Yarborough and wife Karie Renee Yarborough of Carolina Beach.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Edgewood Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Yarborough and Rev. Sara Martin officiating.  Burial will follow at Broadway Town Cemetery.  There will be no formal visitation.
