Obituary

Walter “Walt” Eugene Turner, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

He was born on May 5, 1939 to the late Hubert E. B. Turner and Opal Irene Sanders Turner in Weed, New Mexico. He worked in the potast mines in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He then went to work for Boeing, Inc. in Renton, Washington where he was able to travel the world enjoying places which included Germany, Australia and Switzerland. He retired from Department of Labor (Mine Safety and Health Administration) after working 33 years as an Inspector and Supervisor. Walt loved his Lord and praised Him until the end. His love of family was immeasurable.  He instilled a hard work ethic but most of all to keep the love of Jesus first and foremost.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathleen Anderson Turner; son Sloan Eugene Turner and wife Brenda; daughter Leslie Rene Turner; grandson Erik Christian Turner and wife Briana Dawn and their children Lyla Dawn and Eli Walter and granddaughter Averie Elizabeth.
