Virginia (Ginny) Ann Hamer White, age, 86, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Central Carolina Hospital.
She was born on December 28, 1939 in Richmond County to the late James (Jim) Marshall Hamer and Sallie Belle Gallimore Hamer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Branson Hamer and wife, Virgie.
She graduated from Ellerbe High School in 1958, where she formed lifelong friendships and cherished memories. Throughout her working years, Ginny was known for her strong work ethic. She worked faithfully at United Mills, Siemens, Texifi, and Sara Lee before retiring. A faithful member of Center United Methodist Church, she lived her faith through service and compassion. She lovingly worked in the church community garden and volunteered with the Bread Basket ministry, always giving her time and energy to help those in need.
She is survived by her daughter Teresa Lynn White; nieces Lynn Perry McFarland (Tim) and Shelli Hamer York (Brandon); nephew Mark Hamer (Danielle); several great nieces and nephews and special friends Elaine McNeill, Janice McKinney and their families.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 24, 2026 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and other times at the home of Lynn Perry McFarland. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Center United Methodist Church with Rev. Thearon Willis and Rev. Terry Pleasants officiating. Burial will follow in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
