Tommy Gray Dinkens

Tommy Gray Dinkens, age 79, of Sanford, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Duke Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born in Lee County, NC on April 27, 1945 to the late Porter Dinkins and Nonnie Heath Dinkins.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, of almost 51 years, Terry Blalock Dinkens.  Tommy began his career at Heins Telephone Company.  He retired after many years of service and many years of the company changing hands.  Tommy was an excellent woodworker and enjoyed working in the garden.  More than anything, Tommy loved his daughters, and especially his grandchildren.

Tommy is survived by his three daughters Tara Dinkens Ragan (Brian), Tracey Dinkens, Tricia Dinkens Brown (Shane); grandchildren Carmen Schoolcraft Page (Noah), Dillon Brown, Troy Schoolcraft and Kaycey Brown and numerous siblings and extended family.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Paula & Gary Blalock presiding.  The family will be receiving friends at the family home.
