Obituary

Tommie Gooch, 72, of Bear Creek and Sanford passed away on Tuesday Aug. 15 at UNC Chapel Hill.

He was born in Lee County to the Late Raymond Ruffus Gooch and Ruby Dickens Gooch. In addition to his parents, he was processed in death by his brother Buddy Gooch.

He is survived by his wife Joy Gooch of Snow Hill; sister Viola Gooch of Biscoe; son Jay Gooch of Wind Blow; daughter Stephanie Gooch of Snow Hill; son Chris Gooch of Bear Creek; niece Crystal Rothstein and grandchildren Amber Gooch, Dakota Smith and Haley Lambert.

The family will have a private memorial service a later date.
