Theodore "Ted" Carl Painter

Theodore “Ted” Carl Painter, age 78, of Sanford, NC, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center.

He was born and raised a farm-boy in Missouri on July 9, 1944 to the late Johnny R. Painter and Erma L. Painter.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life, Peggy Lou Hainey Painter.

Ted served our country in the United States Army, doing tours in Vietnam, and served 30 years, retiring as a Master Sgt.  Most importantly, he served the Lord and was an active member at Rocky Fork Christian Church.  He was a Deacon, well known, humble, generous and well loved.  Ted would help do anything people needed.  He was very patriotic and loved honoring veterans by placing flags on their graves.

He is survived by a son Philip Painter (Wendy); granddaughter Kaylie who he loved very much and many friends that loved him dearly and will miss him; 

A memorial service will be held at Rocky Fork Christian Church on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM.  Burial of cremains will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
