Teresa Gail (Ashley) Love

Teresa Gail Ashley Love, age 73, of Sanford, NC passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at Westfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, with her family by her side.

She was born in Lee County on March 12, 1950 to the late Moses D. Ashley and Viola Whitman Ashley.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Thelma Buie, Peggy Bennett, Bobby Ashley and Gerry Thomas.  Teresa was a kind and loving mother and friend.  She enjoyed cooking and watching cooking shows on TV.  She was retired from the City of Sanford Water Department as a customer service representative.  Teresa loved traveling with her best friend but more than anything, she loved her daughters and grandchildren.

Teresa is survived by her daughters Crystal Love Hodges (David “Chan”), Summer Love; brother William “Billy” Ashley all of Sanford; grandchildren Zac Hodges, Zoey Hodges, Autumn Godrey; life-long-friend Lynda McPherson (Luther) of Weddington, NC and numerous family members from the Love family who loved her like a sister.

A graveside service will be held Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Lee Memory Gardens with Rev. Robbie Gibson officiating.  There will be no formal visitation but you may visit the family at Teresa’s home and following the graveside service.
