Tara Bowling Mulligan, aged 40, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tara fought with incredible courage and unwavering hope to spend quality time with her family.
Born on October 28, 1984, Tara Bowling Mulligan was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, and sister and a source of kindness and optimism to everyone she met. Despite facing the challenges of her illness, she remained a beacon for humor, empathy, and resilience. Tara touched the lives of all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Tara embodied kindness and compassion. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, leaving a mark on the hearts of friends and family alike. Her legacy of love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in her journey.
Tara is survived by her loving family, including her husband Joshua Mulligan; daughters Lily and Eleanor Mulligan; grandmother Sandra Hurley (Tom); aunts Ramona, Melissa, Cindy, Jan, Kim, Carole; uncles Eddie ,Terry and Gregory; mother Jill Bowling (Scott); brothers Stephen and Chase Bowling; parents-in-law Thomas and Darlene Mulligan; sister-in-law Kristie and husband Marc Palmer; nieces and nephews Patrick, Caitlin, Lauren, Kori-Anne, and great-niece Olivia. Tara was the leader of the cousins and will be remembered fondly by Ben, Jonah, Sarah, Hunter, Lauren, Lawrence, Rachel, Jennifer, Holly, Melinda and Justin. Tara is preceded in death by father Stephen Bowling and grandmother Fannabelle Bowling.
The family will receive friends in McDowell Hall at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church, Saturday July 5, 2025 from 3:00 PM- 4:00 PM A celebration of Tara’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church in Sanford, NC. May Tara Bowling Mulligan rest in eternal peace, free from pain, and may she be remembered for the love and light she brought into the lives of others.
