Sybil Jean (Watkins) Sherman

Sybil Jean Sherman, age 87, of Sanford, NC, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC.

She was born in Fuquay-Varina, NC, on January 26, 1938, to the late S.J. Watkins and Maude Bridges Watkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Sherman; siblings, David, Kenneth, Florence, Stella, and Frances; and grandchildren, Terry and Scotty.

Sybil was a woman of strong faith and spent much of her life doing missionary work.

She is survived by her children, Doug King; Cecelia Patterson (Robert); and Cindy Schulz. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeremy, David, David Lee, Holly, Angela, and Ethan; and great-grandchildren, Cooper, Keelyn, Annabel, and Pearl.
