Sonya (Gunn) Cameron

Sonya Gunn Cameron, age 80, of Cameron, NC, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Atlanta, GA on June 10, 1942 to the late James Lewis Gunn and Evelyn Coggin Gunn.  She was also preceded in death by her sister Toni Bone.  Mrs. Cameron was a SIMS coordinator at Vass-Lakeview School.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Cameron; daughter Sherry Cameron Haebe and husband Mark of Cameron; sister, Frances Wood of Smyrna, GA; brother Kenneth Gunn and wife Nancy of Mableton, GA; her furry companion, Toby the dog; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Cypress Springs Presbyterian Church with Rev. Barbara Hedin officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.  Burial of cremains will be held in the church cemetery.
