Shirley (Lynch) Taylor

Shirley Lynch Taylor, age 86, of Sanford, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at her home.

She was born in Harnett County, NC on January 15, 1938 to the late William Clyde Lynch and Kizzie Bayles Lynch.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 67 years, Jimmy Louis Taylor.

Mrs. Taylor was a loving homemaker and member of Tramway Baptist Church.  Her grandsons loved her biscuits and everyone enjoyed her strawberry jam, fig preserves and potato salad.  She got enjoyment out of shelling peas and working in her garden. 

She is survived by daughters Vicki Taylor Huffman and husband Walter of Sanford, Lori Taylor Tillett and husband Jesse of Sanford, son Terry Lynch Taylor and wife Laura of Newton; grandchildren Joshua Taylor Tillett and wife Tamara of Cameron, Jordan Davis Tillett and wife Katie of Sanford and Gunnar Kyle Taylor of Newton; two step-grandchildren Allen Huffman of Sanford and Matthew Huffman and wife Maureen of Tega Cay, SC; one great-grandson Tucker Lee Tillett of Sanford. 

A graveside service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Mamers, NC with Rev. Jacob Peterson, Dr. Wesley Thomas and Mr. Travis Corley officiating.  There will be no formal visitation.
