Shelma Day Obituary

Shelma Jane Shrewsberry Day, age 77, of Sanford, NC, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Josephine, West Virginia on September 16, 1943 to the late Luther Shrewsberry and Elsie Shrewsberry.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brother and sisters.

Shelma was a beautiful child of God who loved her Lord and her family more than anything.  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending her vacations at the beach.  Children and babies made her happy and she still sang lullabies to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; like she did her own children.

She is survived by her husband, of 57 years, Ronald Joseph Day; son Glenn Howard Day and wife Selina of Wake Forest, NC; daughters Sandra Lee Snyder and husband Stewart of Sanford, NC, Theresa Jane Zittel and husband David of Eden, New York; sister Pat Lopez of Florida; grandchildren Logan Kidder and wife Karilyn, Samuel and Noah Kidder; Austin and Elliot Day; Kevin and Rachel Sibley and Kara Sibley Lemonds and husband Zack; and great-grandchildren William, Wyatt and Weston Sibley and Sebastion Lemonds.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Buffalo Cemetery with Jim Holt, Melinda Yule and Wanda Skilbred officiating.
