Sheila Ann Douglas

Sheila Ann Douglas passed away on July 3, 2026 at the age of 71.

She was born in Sanford, NC on May 29th, 1955 to the late Floyd Wilbert Douglas and Erma Butler Douglas.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Brenda Douglas and brother Steven Douglas.

Sheila grew up on her parents’ farm, graduated from Greenwood High School and worked at the family business,  B&B Market.  In her adult years she assumed the management and owned the store servicing the community for over 62 years in which her nephew is continuing the legacy.  Sheila gave away as much produce as she ever sold.  Hand grading turnip salad for hours to assure the customers received the best quality product.  For many years she organized fruit bags and baskets for a long list of churches in the Lee County area.  Donated to the food banks, and delivered groceries to shut-in disabled people.  The most important thing she did in her life was to receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  Sheila attended the Sanford Church of God for 71 years.  Her heart was always for the children.  For over 50 years Sheila was involved in the children’s ministry, heading up crafts, snacks, keeping attendance records, and greeting each child with smiles and hugs.

Throughout the years Sheila lived her life focused on serving the Lord, family and friends. Sheila was known for her life of selflessness, caring and giving spirit. She enjoyed crafts, drawing, and crocheting.

Sheila leaves behind her sister Sandra Kay Douglas, nephew Trey Dempsey and nephew Daniel Moore and wife Angie and their children Isaac Shields-Moore and Alayna Moore.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 10:50 AM at Sanford Church of God.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Stinnett and Pastor Cecil Ayers officiating.  Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.
