A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
Kenneth Underwood Martin, age 93, of Sanford, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Central Carolina Hospital.
He was born in Yadkin County, NC on June 14, 1932 to the late Arthur Lee Martin and Myrtle Virginia Underwood Martin. Ken was preceded in death by his wife, of 69 years, Colleen Martin. Mr. Martin was the youngest and the last of nine children including Leon Martin, Carol Martin Talbert, Dett Martin, Thad Martin, Thomasine Martin Eskridge, Magdalene Martin Smith, Rosena Martin Webster and Benny Martin. He served our country in the United States Army and was a long-time member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son Kyle F. Martin (Donna) of Wake Forest; daughter Lynne Martin Stone (Gary) of Broadway; grandchildren Rachel Stone Cameron (Marshall), Katherine Martin Noitalay (Kevin), Aaron Gary Stone, Kevin Martin (Cassy) and great-grandchildren Michael and Declan.
Ken was a 1958 graduate of North Carolina State College with a Bachelors’ degree in Industrial Engineering. Ken’s working career included Engineering and Management positions primarily in textiles and garment manufacturing, including co-owning and operating Kenco Casuals, Inc., a ladies’ clothing manufacturing and retail business, with Colleen.
