Sam Lewis Hall, age 89 of Olivia, NC, passed into his eternal home on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst, NC, with his family by his side.
Sam was born in Olivia, NC on April 11, 1931, son of Archie Dewey Hall and Annie Laurie Carter Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Nason Dewey, A.C. and Dewey Autry and sisters Eulalia Seawell, Bettie Wilson and Catherine Godwin, children: Sam L. Hall, Jr., (Sammy) and Robin Sheree Martin. Sam was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a member of the 307th Airborne Medical Battalion Ambulance Company and the 82nd Airborne Division. He retired from Civil Service as a licensed electrician with Womack Army Hospital.
Surviving is his wife, of 69 years, Mollie Cameron Hall of the home; daughter Diane Hall Edwards (William “Billy”) of Olivia; grandchildren Clarissa Edwards and Jennifer Haynes of Durham, Kyle Edwards (Misty) of Olivia, Jason Combs and great-grandchildren; Bailee and Olive Rose Edwards of Olivia, Blake Combs of Sanford, Ava Combs of Asheville and Christina; brothers Rev. Vaugus Wayne Hall (Sarah) of Carolina Beach, NC, Aubrey Lee Felix Hall of Sanford, and Jerome C. Hall “Romy” (Verna) of Robbins; and sister Margaret Hall Douglas-Altman (Alan) of Olivia.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Olivia Presbyterian Church on Sunday, September 20, 2020. Visitation will be held 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with the funeral service following at 3:00 PM with Pastor Bob Johnson and Rev. George Walton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
