SFC. William Norman Hernden, age 66, of Cameron NC, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Mt. Clemens Michigan on April 30, 1957 to Alvin Norman Hernden and Mildred Josephine Fritz.
He is survived by his loving wife Diane Peters Hernden of Cameron, and his son, William Hernden II, (Joy) of South Carolina. Daughters; Christina Woodall (Christopher) of Mississippi. Darlene Crowley (Steven) of Cameron. Josphine Howard (Ronald) of Texas. Grandchildren: Zachary, Abigail, Anthony, Alannah, Adrianna, Steven, Emmylou, Sophia, Dillon, Kimberly, Mason, Kade, Emma, Vincent. 13 Brothers and Sisters. Fur babies: Sadie & Bella Rose.
William loved the military and proudly served his Country. He had many hobbies, such as coin collecting and working on car engines in his driveway, and passing that knowledge onto his children. He loved his loud music. Enjoyed sports, His favorite team was the Detroit Lions. He especially enjoyed playing softball while serving in the military. He loved his family and grandchildren. He will be missed by everyone who knew him
Visitation will be held Saturday May 4, 2024 from 11:00- 1:00 PM at The Bridges and Cameron Funeral Home.
A Graveside Committal Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Cumberland Memorial Gardens
