Ruth Gail Denny-Godfrey

Ruth Gail Denny-Godfrey, age 74, of Sanford, NC, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at her home with her family by her side.

Gail was born in Lee County on May 7, 1951 to the late Gilbert Denny and Betty Ruth Mason Denny.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter April Gail Tilton; grandson Christopher Wayne Baker; twin-sister Ruby Dale Brown; sisters Wyetta Kay Hickman, Sybil Denny; brother Tony Denny and niece Michelle Sybil Hickman.

Gail worked many years for Walgreens as their food service manager and will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her wife, of 33 years, Beverly Godfrey; son Eric Travis Tilton (Haiver Perez); niece Tabitha Keas (Brian); brother-in-law Cecil Ray Hickman and great-grandsons Joseph Brian Gordon and Kayden Wayne Baker.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Jonesboro Cemetery.
