Ruben Billy Wilson, Jr.

Ruben Billy Wilson, Jr., age 53, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026 at his home.

He was born in Lee County, NC on October 4, 1972 to Ruben Billie Wilson, Sr. and Judy Gilmore Wilson.  He was preceded in death by his father Ruben Wilson, Sr. and grandparents Emma Lou Wilson, Pete Wilson and Vernon Gilmore.

In addition to his mother Judy Gilmore Wilson, he is survived by grandmother Bessie Gilmore; children Tyler Wilson, Lauren Wilson; brother David Wilson and wife Wendy; sisters Rachel McCracken and Jill Bailey and husband Todd; one niece and four nephews He is also survived by his long-time friend Steve Godfrey and Rogie his fur-baby. 

Ruben enjoyed front porch sitting and watching nature.  He was gentle hearted and enjoyed a slower pace life at home.  He loved his children and enjoyed hunting and fishing with them.  He was an avid UNC Tarheel Fan and enjoyed watching football and basketball games, along with the Dallas Cowboys.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Norris officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends, in the cemetery, following the services.
