Ronnie Lee Todd

Ronnie Lee Todd, 75 of Sanford passed away Friday, May 20^th, 2022, at his home.  He was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Ruby Wicker Todd of Sanford, and his sister Linda Gualdoni of Greensboro, NC. 

He is survived by his wife, Mercedes J. Todd of Mexico and his only daughter Crystal T. Littlefield of Johnston County, NC. 

Surviving family members include his brother and best friend, Larry K. Todd and wife Marsha of Sanford; niece, Amy Todd of Fayetteville, NC; nephews, Christopher Todd (Kristen) of Ashville, NC, and Ryan Todd and wife Elizabeth Todd of Greensboro, NC. One uncle, Lowell Hamel of Sanford also survives along with extended cousins, family, and friends across the country and in Mexico. 

Ronnie graduated from Sanford Central High School in 1965, and soon after began working in the tobacco industry, acquiring a supervisory position with Universal Leaf Tobacco Corporation, Inc. in Smithfield, NC.  His tobacco career included many years of travel and living in Mexico, where he met his future wife, Mercedes.  Their daughter, Crystal has many fond childhood memories of Ronnie’s time spent working in Mexico. 

Ronnie enjoyed buying, selling, and collecting antiques, and was appreciative of the many friendships that it fostered. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 2:30-4PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, with internment following at Buffalo Cemetery.
