Ronnie Lee Smith

Ronnie Lee Smith, age 67, of Sanford, NC, passed away peacefully Monday, July 7, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Orange County, NC on November 21, 1957 to the late Clarence Smith and Peggy Marks.  Ronnie worked many years for GKN then worked at Hydrotube Enterprises before his retirement.  He had a green-thumb and enjoyed working in his yard.  Ronnie also enjoyed fishing, going to the beach with his family and playing with his sweet grandchildren Tucker and Remi.  He loved his family dearly and he will be missed.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Crete Hurley Smith; daughters Katie Smith Tillett and husband Jordan of Sanford, Cydney Smith Herring and husband Trent of Hampstead; grandchildren Tucker Lee Tillett, Remi Joan Herring; siblings Helen, Donnie and Robert and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Gary McCollough officiating.  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the graveside service and other times at the family home.
