Roberta F. Cartwright, age 72, of Youngsville, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2019.
She was born in Jackson County, Missouri on February 20, 1947 to the late Leo Eugene Morris and Kathleen Michael Weekly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Cartwright. Roberta worked many years as an administrative assistant with The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). She was a mother figure to many of the younger DEA employees – she loved to take care of people. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Cartwright Whitney and husband, Marlen of Sanford; sons, Joseph Cartwright of California, Donnell Cartwright and wife, Beverly of Georgia; grandchildren, Daniel Zimney of North Dakota, Joshua Zimney of Oregon, Samantha Sampaga and husband, Brendan of Youngsville; Brady Whitney of Sanford, Kalani Whitney of Sanford, April Thai of Arizona and Andrew Thai of Arizona, Hunter and Tanner Cartwright of Georgia; great-grandchildren, Kaikane Sampaga, Marley Sampaga, Zyla Sampaga and Luna Sampaga.
A memorial service to celebrate Roberta’s life will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Calvin Sayles officiating.
