Robert Wayne Marshall

Robert Wayne Marshall, age 88, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born in Surry County on February 10, 1932 to the late Robert Lincoln Marshall and Lettie May Taylor.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ernestine Marsh.  Mr. Marshall worked many years at Martin-Marietta.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Virginia Taylor Marshall; son, Robert Scott Marshall of Sanford; two daughters, Dawn Gilliam and husband, George of Sanford and Sandra Pridgen and husband, John of Holly Springs; sisters, Betty Marshall of Virginia, Joyce Green of Pinehurst and Geraldine Wall of Carthage; grandchildren, Karli Marshall, Cohen Marshall, William Pridgen, Andrew Pridgen, Lisa Ragland and husband, Brian and George Mack Gilliam; great-grandchildren, Nikki Ragland and Hayden Ragland and many special nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family request the use of facemasks and social distancing will be observed.
