Ricky Lee Yarborough

Ricky Lee Yarborough, age 68, of Sanford, NC passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at his home, with his family by his side.

He was born in Lee County, NC on November 19, 1956 to the late C.V. Yarborough and Eva Mae Whitaker Yarborough.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Hayden Lynn Spivey and sister-in-law Wanda Yarborough.

Ricky never met a stranger and had a tremendous amount of friends.  He loved joking around and telling stories.  He enjoyed riding horses, playing his guitar and collected Mopar classic cars.  Ricky owned and operated Yarborough’s Heating & Air and was a workaholic. More than anything, he loved his family and was “The White Knight” to them. 

He is survived by his loving wife Shirl Yarborough; daughters Lori Yarborough Carroll, Jennifer Leigh Yarborough; brother Ronnie Yarborough; sister Susan Yarborough Stone (Andy) and grandchildren Kaley Carroll, Addison Carroll, Cameron Carroll, Kyleigh Taylor and Kale Taylor.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 24, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and other times at the family home.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 25th at 2:00 PM at Edgewood Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sara Martin and Rev. David Yarborough officiating.  Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.
