Richard " Ricky" Lee Stewart

Richard” Ricky” Lee Stewart, age 65, of Sanford, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born in Lee County to the late John Stewart, Jr. and Vernell Wilson Stewart.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Clifford Stewart, sisters Peggy Wester, Debra Norris, and Linda Scott.

Ricky worked at This End Up Furniture Company for 21 years. He enjoyed working with his hands. He had a  sense of humor always joking, and he never  met a stranger. He loved his family especially his grandson. Ricky was known for his strength, resilience, and unwavering faith, He truly fought the good fight until the very end.  He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years Tammy Gunter Stewart; son Jacob Lee Stewart, of Sanford, NC; grandson Jayden “Peanut” Stewart, brother Toney Stewart, of Asheboro, NC.  Devoted nephew and nieces Bobby, Tammy and Michelle;  sister in laws Susan Gunter and Lisa Doberstein.

The family will receive friends at Rise Assembly, 100 Upchurch Farm Road  Sanford, NC  27332. Friday, April 11 , 2025 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM A celebration of life service will follow at  2:00 PM  with Pastor Ronnie Whitaker, Jr.  officiating.
