Richard Anthony Taylor, Sr., age 65, of Cameron, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at his home.
He was born in Lee County to the late Charles Louie Taylor and Frances Mangum Taylor. A long-distance truck driver by trade, Ricky spent much of his life behind the wheel, crossing the highways and backroads of this beautiful country he loved so dearly. His simple, steady life was built on strong values, hard work, and a deep love for his family. Whether home for a weekend or just a phone call away from the road, he cherished every moment spent with those he held dear. He also enjoyed listening to old country and gospel music and spending time with his dog, Hannah. Most importantly he loved his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his children Richard Anthony Taylor, Jr. (Joy) of Cameron, Daniel Taylor of Cameron, Buford Taylor of Shallotte and Delane Taylor of Eden; brother Rodney Taylor of Cameron; sisters Shelia Fraley of Sanford and LuAnne Godwin of Cameron; grandchildren McKenzi Taylor (Charlie), Eric Taylor, Lily Taylor, Tristan Taylor and Ceirra Taylor and many special nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Cameron Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Ray Moore officiating.
