Rev. George T. Stallings, Jr., age 81, of Sanford, N.C. was called home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2026 surrounded by his family. George was born in Arlington Virginia on March 16, 1944. He was the son of the late Rev. George T. Stallings Sr. and Frances Goodwin Stallings.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carla Hickman Stallings; daughter Kimberly Stallings Boggs; son Jeffrey A. Stallings and wife Jill; grandchildren W. Mason Boggs, T. Micah Boggs, S. Marcus Boggs, Ethan Stallings and wife Aylah, Elise Stallings, Emily Stallings, and great grandson Will Stallings. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Frances and his son-in-law A. Steve Boggs.
George was a graduate of Virginia Beach High School and Southeastern Theological Seminary. He spent the majority of his life in Virginia Beach, where he met his wife Carla, and started his family. In 1975 he surrendered his life to the ministry and moved his family to North Carolina where he remained until his death. He was a loving husband, devoted father, proud “Bye-Bye”, and lover of old cars. He loved his family deeply, but his greatest joy was being “Bye-Bye” to his grandchildren. George never met a stranger and always saw good in everyone. He was a faithful friend, who was always there to lend a helping hand. His greatest blessing was sharing the word of God over the last 51 years from the pulpit each Sunday. Though he will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in knowing he is now in the presence of his Savior.
“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.” Matthew 25:23
