Rebecca Nell Riddle Solomon, age 78, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Central Carolina Hospital.
She was born in Lee County on November 7, 1947, to the late Oded Dewey Riddle and Sarah Hall Riddle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie Riddle, Robie Riddle, and Oded Daniel Riddle; and her sisters, Dollie Mae Boyd, Bertie Poindexter, Joyce Chorney, and Shelba Jean Rackley.
Nell worked in manufacturing with Federal Molding prior to her retirement. She enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends, playing games on her iPad, and, above all, loved her family. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her son, “Jimmy” Solomon (Kathi) of Gulf; her brother, Edwin Riddle (Evelyn) of Sanford; her grandchildren, Megan Rodriguez (Jose), Will Brown, Chandler Solomon, and Luke Brown; and her great-grandchildren, Cooper Rodriguez, Jacob Rodriguez, Mia Rodriguez, and Martina Rodriguez; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Eric Davidson officiating. Friends will be greeted at the graveside following the service.
