Phyllis Irene (Wright) Waddell

Phyllis Irene Wright Waddell, age 83, of Sanford, NC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation.

Phyllis was born in Calhoun County, WV on May 11, 1941 to the late Robert Wright and Lucy Stull Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Clifford ( E.C.) Waddell; brothers Robert Dewayne Wright, Clarence Wright, sisters Margaret Fenton, and Ercel Holmes.

She was a homemaker, a member of Grace Church, she was a woman of deep faith and a prayer warrior always lifting others up prayer. She loved her family, grandchildren & greatchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son Robert Wayne Waddell (Lisa) of Sanford; a daughter Diane Waddell Donaldson (Clay) of Sanford; three grandchildren; Ashley, Shaina, Tabbitha; five great grandchildren Riley, Gavin, Kaori, Aiden, Jamison.

A graveside service will be held at Jonesboro Cemetery on Saturday, February 8, 2025, 11:00AM with Rev. Joel Murr officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.
