Born in New York City, Peter lived in North Tarrytown (now Sleepy Hollow) and Briarcliff Manor, New York before retiring to Sanford, North Carolina to be closer to family. He attended Westchester Community College where he studied business and worked in Manhattan for the advertising agency Young & Rubicam.
Peter was an avid traveler, gourmet cook, loyal fan of the New York Mets, and lover of animals, especially dogs. He grew orchids, watched television westerns and wrestling, and enjoyed coquilles St.-Jacques, osso buco and cherry pie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter A. Wyhof and Helen R. Wyhof and his brother, Dr. John R. Wyhof. He is survived by his sister Patricia Norman, sister-in-law Nancy Lou Wyhof, nieces Karen Walker and husband Patrick, Rebecca Wyhof Salmon and husband Brad, nephews Greg Norman and wife Sonya, James Norman and wife Wendy and 5 great nieces and nephews.
