Peter V. DeMitri, 88, of Cameron, NC, formerly of Williamstown, NJ, passed away on August 8, 2022.
Mr. DeMitri served in the US Coast Guard for 25 years before retiring. He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. In 1962 until 1975 Peter worked for Calvin Productions originally in Kansas City and later in Philadelphia which brought his family to New Jersey. At Calvin he worked as a producer, director and writer making many industrial and educational films as well as doing the Kansas City Chiefs highlight films for a number of years. He was a member and past president of the Williamstown Rotary Club. He formerly served as a deacon for St. Mary’s Church.
Mr. DeMitri was predeceased by his first wife Anne DeMitri (nee Lindquist). Beloved husband of Barbara DeMitri (nee Bosmans) and also survived by her family. Devoted father of Michael DeMitri (Roseann), Valerie Santangelo (Thomas), Stephen DeMitri (Denice), the late JoAnne DeMitri and the late Debra Iacovone (Carmen). Loving grandfather of Michelle Eavis (Sean), Valerie Emmons (Brandon), Kristin Reber (Tim), Stefanie Fithian, Michael Santangelo, Alexa Santangelo, Christopher DeMitri (Jena), Anne Ambrose (Cory), Nicholas DeMitri (Jennifer), Ryan Iacovone and Austin Iacovone. Loving great-grandfather of Emma, Hailey, Cameron, Juliette, McKenna, Aiden, Dylan, Jaxon, Levi, Stephen, Cassadee, Axel and Maximus.
Services are being held privately at the request of the family.
