Peggy Louellis (Wicker) Wicker

Peggy Louellis (Wicker) Wicker, age 82 of Sanford, NC, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Transition Life Care in Raleigh, NC with her family by her side.

She was born in Harnett County, NC on June 9, 1941 to the late Ellis Wicker and Louise Maddox Wicker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 50 years, David Virgil Wicker, Jr. and sisters Carolyn Cole and Helen Mauldin.

Peggy was a strong and independent woman who cared about others.  She was always baking, cooking and sharing with friends, family and strangers.  She loved working in her yard and gardening.  Peggy retired from Allied Fibers/Honeywell and was a member of Zion Christian Church.

She is survived by her loving children Cheryl Asato and husband Stacey of Franklinton, Julie Chriscoe and husband Joe of Apex, Scott Wicker of Deep River; grandchildren Aime Pender, Ashley Pender Garton (Kevin), Kaitlyn Asato Swim (Connor), David Asato (Kayla), Richard Wicker, Cameron Chriscoe, Gracen Chriscoe and great-grandchildren Piper Swim, Konley Hayden, Olivia Swim, Raelyn Garton, Zachary Asato, Karsen Garton, Eleanor Swim and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM in the followship hall of Zion Christian Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at Zion Christian Church with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will also be receiving friends at the home of Julie Wicker Chriscoe, 414 Hanson Walk Lane, Apex, NC 27539.
