Peggy (Patterson) Godfrey

Peggy Patterson Godfrey, age 71, of Sanford, NC, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Laurens County, SC on August 30, 1950 to the late John Hembree Patterson and Irene Morgan Patterson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willie Everette Godfrey and son Mark Everette Godfrey.  Peggy was a wonderful and loving homemaker and loved her family and grandchildren more than anything.  She was a member of Kendale Acres Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Godfrey and Anna of Sanford; brother John R. Patterson of Elizabethton, TN; sister Bobbi Ann Casey of Enoree, SC; grandchildren Olivia and Alaina Godfrey, Jessica Harrington and husband Justin; great-grandchildren Blake, Trinady, Kyleigh and Sienna Harrington.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Kendale Acres Freewill Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 with Pastor Doug Western officiating.  Burial will follow at Lemon Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
