Peggy Ann (Baker) Cotten

Peggy Ann Baker Cotten, age 79, of Moncure, NC, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 at WakeMed Cary Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born in Chatham County, NC on May 16, 1946 to the late Nathan Felton Baker and Verna Thomas Baker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.  Peggy was an active member of Haywood Bible Church in Moncure.  Along with her husband, they owned and operated Moncure Variety Store & Grill and Cotten’s Camp Ground.  She loved her community, family and especially her granddaughters. 

Peggy is survived by her husband, of 63 years, Rudolph Cotten; sons Nathan Cotten and wife Anita, Perry Cotten and wife Becky; granddaughters Koltlyn Cotten, Willow Grace Cotten and sister Geraldine Clewis of Florida.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Noon in the mausoleum chapel of Lee Memory Gardens with Rev. Greg Little and Rev. Terry Pleasants officiating.
